upcoming events

We host a number of community events throughout the year. Some of these are creative (writing groups, folk art workshops), others are discussion based (exploring issues specific to our community, such as Asian family dynamics), and some are educational (how to deliver culturally sensitive therapy, or the intersection of global development and mental health). All of these involve meaningful conversations and a chance to make new connections!

Writing Group: In Progress

We’ll be discussing transitions, new chapters, and the feelings that can come with an approaching new year (the good, the bad, and the anxious). After reading short works by South Asian writers and poets, you will have the chance to write your own piece (no experience required)! Anyone from the South Asian community is welcome.

Friendship Speed Dating

A perfect opportunity to meet likeminded South Asians over croissants and coffee! We want to be intentional about who you meet, so we've split up the groups by age (that doesn't mean you have to stick to one session). This event is women only. We are so excited to partner with a South Asian owned cafe, Kasa Cafe in Fitzrovia!

Family Conflict Workshop

Conflict with South Asian parents: we could (and might) do a whole series on this, but let's start with the basics 👀  We'll discuss common triggers, repair techniques, and the ways in which our culture impacts conflict with family. We aim to empower participants with culturally sensitive resources to navigate conflict and family dynamics.

This month, our theme is "in bloom", and we're thinking about all the ways we can grow as spring approaches. One of our favourite ways to "bloom" is through reading and sharing our cultural, personal, meaningful stories.

February: Love is Friendship

Friendships can be so romantic. Just like with dating, they require trust, vulnerability, and emotional intimacy. This Valentine's Day, we want to celebrate the pyaar (love) in our dosti (friendship) and reflect on what platonic love means.

What to Expect:

- meaningful conversations with like-minded people from the south asian community

- lots of desi snacks

- block printing / painting tote bags

- gift bags including a special gift from a south asian brand we love

Price: £15
